a couple of lesbians can have a wedding in a state that does not recognize gay marriage?

My fiance and I are committed for several months now. we live in North Carolina and our state does not recognize gay marriage. we thought about getting married or get a civil unions in Massachusetts, but with the ceremony to the temptation of the lake is in North Carolina. could we do that? or would it be better to have just a ceremony delivery of our vows to each other?

Your civil union is not recognized in North Carolina. If you want to have some sort of ceremony Carolina North that would make you and your friends happy, there is nothing to stop you. It would simply no legal effect.
